Annual Year End Camp fire.

The annual year end camp fire organized by the 1st Kandy Dharmaraja Scout group was held on 24th December 2006. Many Scout Leaders, Old Scouts, ASLs and Parents were in attendance for the camp fire.

This was organized by the ORSA to discuss the 7 year plan of scout development in 1st Kandy Dharmaraja Scout Group starting from year 2007.

The 7 year plan which was presented in the 28th Annual General Meeting in November was re-presented in a comprehensive manner by the treasurer Mr. Suminda Vithanarachchi, and the feed back from the Scout Leaders and ALSs was very optimistic about the proposals and it was agreed to go ahead with the plan proposed.

The annual year end camp fire will be held at Camp fire Circle of BP Hill, Lake View Park.

Further on the same day a fellowship will be held for the Scout Leaders, Assistant Scout Leaders and the Cub Scout Leaders of Dharmaraja Scouts.

Rovers on Adventure Hike
Monday December 11 –to Sunday December 17, 2006

Four rovers namely Visura Munasinghe, Thilina Jayawardene, Chanaka Bandara, Rajitha Navarathne have completed an Adventure hike statring from Sri Pada(Adams Peak) and via Sapthya Kanya mountain range(Seven maidens) to Hanthana mountain range.

Our committee member Mr Prabhath Amarawardana's father has expired.Funeral proceedings at16th Saturday at Mahayyawa cemetrey.

BP Hill Project

30th November 2006 was very special day for the 1st Kandy Dharmaraja Scout Group since the special guests Mr Abdualla Rasheed (The Director , Asia Pacific Scouts Association) and Mr Eric Wu (The President of Asia Pacific Scouts Association) named the Lake View Park International Scout Centre at Dharmaraja College Kandy as the BP Hill, in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of scouting which falls in year 2007.

1st Executive Committee Meeting of ORSA (Year 2006/2007)

The first Executive committee meeting of the new committee of ORSA was held
on Saturday the 9th of December 2006, at Lakeview park international scout
center at 5.00 pm. This meeting was preceded by a Chanting of Seth Perith at
4.00pm.

The attendance for the meeting was very impressive and almost all the
committee members were present.

The main issue discussed during the meeting was the Annual Program of the
ORSA for year 2006/2007

The finalized annual program is as follows.

24th - ASL, Scout Leader Get-together

24th - Annual Year End Campfire

7th - Annual Dana

13th AND 14th - 2 Day trip to Minnerya

BP Day Celebration. It was decided to commence the conservation activities of Lakeview park international scout centre on this day.

The fund raising program

There was a proposal to conduct a film festival as the fund raising program for this year. (This is still pending for approval)
